How Hypnosis Can Build Self-Confidence

Most of us are not born with a booming sense of self-confidence. We have our anxieties and insecurities that prevent us from performing to our fullest potential.

From excelling in career to finding love, lack of self-confidence can be a major life hurdle. If we do not deal with it, it will come to define our lives. Nurturing self-confidence is very important for true self-actualization.

How Hypnosis Can Help

The hypnosis school of thought assumes that all roots of our anxieties and insecurities lie in the subconscious mind.

By targeting the subconscious mind, hypnosis aims to help the person get rid of negative or self-destructive thought patterns and replacing them with better, more constructive ones.

This happens in a hypnotic-trance. After a few sessions with a hypnotist, the person not only understands the underlying reasons that caused hindrances, but also has a few tools and resources to deal with issues.

Here’s a step-by-step process on how hypnosis can help boost self-confidence:

Have a Goal or Intention in Mind

It should be remembered that intent is very important when it comes to hypnosis.

Before you get started with hypnosis, you need to have a clear goal in mind; in this case, it might be building self-confidence.

Your goal could be becoming a good public speaker or mustering up the self-confidence to take that new job. Once you have a goal in mind, you can work towards achieving it through hypnosis.

Pick a Comfortable Spot

Make sure you find a quiet and comfortable spot for this. You might be in that room for quite a while, so you need to ensure that there are no disturbances.

Prepare a Few Statements Relevant to the Goal

Now that you have a goal and have found a comfy place, it is time to rehearse a few statements. For instance, if you want to travel alone for the first time, your statements could be: ‘I know this is tough, but it will help me grow in profound ways’ or ‘After I come back, I will be a transformed person’.

Practice Deep Breathing

Count backwards to 5 and start taking deep breaths. This will ease up your mind and help you focus better. Slowly relax all parts of your body, including hands, arms, shoulders, chest, etc.

Visualize Yourself Achieving the Goal

Finally, visualize yourself being self-confident and performing at your best. It could be at a sports event or a public speaking competition. Imagine yourself performing at your best.
