“Perfection Is A Myth” – 5 Ways to Boost Your Self-Esteem Everyday

Even though most of us are well aware that nobody is flawless, it doesn’t stop us from striving for perfection day in and day out. We want perfect grades, perfect credit scores, perfect employer reviews, perfect bodies, perfect relationships and perfect lives.

At times, failing to achieve these unreasonable levels of perfection leaves us feeling worn out and even inadequate. This as you can see is no good for our self-esteem!

5 Ways to Boost Your Self-Esteem Every Day

If you have understood that the need to be perfect is one that needs to be processed and shed, you’re probably wondering; what will boost my self esteem if not perfection?

The good news is you don’t need perfection to boost your self-esteem! You can give that self esteem a boost by doing certain things on a day to day basis. Slow and steady if you will! Here are five ways to boost your self-esteem every day!

The Glass Half Full

This might not be easy to understand however there are few day to day situations that one can only see in a negative light. For the most part, situations we encounter can always be perceived in a softer or more positive light. How this helps is that it keeps our energy and spirits high and puts us in a pro-active state of mind. When we’re proactive we get things done!

Finding the best in situations and actively trying to stay positive on a day to day basis is a great way to give that self-esteem a boost.

Count Your Blessings

What we mean here is to connect with things that are working out for you as opposed to those that are not. If you’re struggling at work, maybe there are other areas of life you’re doing well in? This could be anything from an extra skill you’re great at to simply maybe being physically fit and conventionally good looking!

What we’re trying to say is that even if you are falling short in some areas, it helps to remind ourselves of where we excel and how we may be skilled, talented and blessed on a daily basis!

Check Your Posture

You would be surprised at how much something as small as your posture and the way you carry yourself affects the way you see the world and vice versa. Many of us don’t realize it but we physically embody our lack of confidence. We might slouch or walk with our heads down and have probably done so for so long it’s become second nature.

Straightening your posture and simply keeping your head up and walking tall will eventually make you feel the part. Do this every day and your self confidence will improve!

Don’t Let Go eating well

We’re referring to your physical state here. Even on the worst of days, simply washing, staying clean, eating well and getting exercise is enough to keep us going. These are also things we tend to let go of the minute we’re feeling low or broken.

Staying regular with our self-care and personal hygiene from day to day even if we’re not feeling too great eventually results in a more positive self-image. A positive self-image means confidence!

You’re Not Your Failures

We all fail, fall short and mess up from time to time. There is nothing wrong with this, after all; we are human! It is important to remind yourself who you are from day to day. This helps us separate ourselves from our failures, which in turn gives us the room to improve on the same.

Motivate yourself, be kind to yourself and remember that no one is perfect and falling short from time to time is okay!

Finding Support

There are instances where due to deep rooted emotional and psychological scars, we may be unable to connect with our efficacy and hence just cannot feel self-confident. If this is the case, you can always seek help from a professional.

You have disciplines including therapy and hypnosis that can be quite effective in addressing your struggle with self confidence. Remember, if you’re willing to do the work, you only need to find someone to work with!
