Overcoming the fear of confrontation with hypnosis

Fear of confrontation

Fear of confrontation doesn’t just refer to actively avoiding conflict it also includes being fear of being confronted by others.

Choosing to do someone else’s work in the office instead of telling them to do it is an example of fear of confrontation. Choosing to turn the other way after spotting your ex-girlfriend is also fear of confrontation.

Avoiding conflict every now and then is perfectly alright but doing so over and over again to the extent that it starts taking a toll on your life and those around, is a major problem that needs to be treated.

Treating the fear of confrontation with hypnosis

Luckily for you, you don’t have to live your life running around the place and avoiding conflict. There are many treatments out there that can help you overcome your fear – one of which is hypnosis.

As opposed to regular therapy, hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind and activates the subconscious instead. The conscious mind puts up guards and has defense mechanisms in place that resist treatment. On the other hand, the subconscious is open to suggestibility and responds more positively compared the subconscious.

Treating phobias and fear of confrontation involves reprogramming the brain using relaxation techniques and suggestions.

Relaxation techniques:

Relaxation techniques consist of a combination of breathing exercises and visualization. Accessing the subconscious mind requires you to let go of conscious thinking and get your mind to a calm state.

By breathing slowly, you’ll learn to collect yourself when your emotions start stirring up. All that turmoil in your head that is caused by your fears, will settle down. You should then be able to direct your thoughts accordingly.

Suggestions

The state of relaxation is similar to being entranced. Once you’re in it, you’re more open to suggestibility. You are willing to listen and accept suggestions that the hypnotist is making; some of which your conscious mind may have disapproved of.

These suggestions will be used to implant positive associations in your mind and replace negative thinking patters with more productive ones which help you get past your fears.

After regular hypnosis sessions, you’ll get over your fear of confrontation without even realizing it. You may need to practice some self-hypnosis techniques but otherwise the process is effortless!
